I have had my website for so long, but never had a blog. So many people have asked me why I don't blog. I've always said it was because I thought it was pretentious to blog. And I didn't understand why anyone would really care about what I had to say. I also don't read blogs because I don't have a lot of extra time on my hands. I'm busy making clothing, teaching fashion classes at two colleges, volunteering for fashion related organizations and events in Arizona, and being a wife and mother of 2 kids. And besides, even if I had time on my hands, what would I write about?
But a friend of mine recently said that she'd actually be very interested in hearing my thoughts and opinions on fashion and the industry itself. I'm always venting about it in these lengthy email rants that I send to people when I've been wronged and have earned the title of "mad emailer" because of it. (Don't mess with me or you'll be sentenced to the harsh punishment of reading a wordy tirate on fashion with multiple paragraphs, examples and AP style citations backing up my inner thoughts and opinions.) She also brought up the point that there are actually sane people in the world without 10 different part time jobs who do have leisure time and enjoy reading blogs. This is a very foreign concept for me to try to grasp. "You mean other people have only one job and they take vacations, read and possibly even nap?" I boggled. Who are these kings and queens of slacking? I envy you. So, this is for you (and a little bit for those on the recieving end of my mad emailings...maybe they won't be so long now). Enjoy!
